Christmas this year was a wonderful event celebrating Grace's first Christmas in her forever family. Brian's parents, sister, and brother-in-law, all came from out of state to visit. We also had our dear friends, Ann and Dick, over for Christmas dinner. It was a lovely holiday--with some terrific photo-ops!!!
But, truth be told, Grace seemed a bit underwhelmed by Christmas. She did not get present opening at all. Tearing up wrapping paper made no sense to her. And she was still recovering from an ear infection and cold (the first since returning from China) earlier in the week, so she probably wasn't totally herself.
She does love her presents. She got lots of great new books that we are reading every night. She is an avid reader! She got some tiny robotic bugs from Grandma Ione, that she loves. At first they scared her, but now she wants them to crawl around on her head! She likes all her cute new clothes (ok, Mama and Daddy like the clothes). She is starting to get the hang of her new Plasma car by doing laps around the kitchen.

She also loves her new Baby Signing Time dvds and asks for us to turn them on everytime she is in front of the TV. She has learned several new words including: yes, sky, outside, moon, stars, up, down, and several more. We absolutely swear by these videos. Learning sign language has expanded Grace's spoken language considerably and cut down on her frustrations at not being able to communicate with us. I would highly recommend them to anyone with a toddler!!!
We had our first visit to the zoo this weekend. It was great fun and I can't wait to go back. We only got through about half the zoo before Grace lost steam, but she loved seeing the animals up close and personal.
Today Grace is 21 months old. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. Where does the time go? Hope you all have a wonderful new year!
