Sorry for the delay on my regular "Mugshot Monday" post. Yesterday we had a teleconference with all the families traveling to DRC this week and next. Jilma filled us in on lots of travel and paperwork details. After it was over I just didn't have the energy to do a post. I must admit I am starting to get stressed out. Although Brian is the one that actually has to travel, being left at home is no piece of cake either. Brian and I are generally joined at the hip so being apart for 11 days is freaking me out. Brian leaves on Wednesday, April 22 and he will be home on Sunday, May 3.
But enough whining from me. I will survive and Brian and Haven will be home before we know it. I do worry about all the stress this will put on Grace. As I mentioned, Brian leaves on April 22. On April 23 I will be gone all day long, from 6:30 in the morning until after midnight because our UIL One Act Contest play advanced to Regional competition. I am so proud of my cast and crew, but it couldn't have come at a worse time. Thankfully, Grandma Ione and Grandpa Chuck are coming to stay with us while Brian is away. Ione has lots of plans made for Grace activities. She is also doing a wonderful job planning for my meals. Some of you may not know this, but I don't cook. I mean, really, I don't cook anything. Sometimes toast, maybe some cup o noodles. That's about it. When my students heard Brian would be gone for so long, one of the first questions they asked was what I would do about food. They know me well.
The pictures for this post are of Grace's 2nd birthday. We had a lovely day in the park. Now that Grace is 2 she loves: talking all the time, her dog Skippy, hugs, wrestling on the floor, taking off her clothes (diapers and all), playing at the park with her friends, eating omlets (how do you spell omlet?) and noodles, ice cream and candy, and laughing, laughing, laughing. She hates: wearing socks (but loves shoes), anytime I am on the computer, taking naps (or sleeping in general), when you turn off her Wiggles videos (she calls them the Wiggies), and the dark.
Grace is truly amazing, such a blessing and so filled with love!
