Grace Turned 4--While I Was Away Part III

My sweet baby Grace turned 4 while we were in DRC.  Luckily, she still does not have a firm grasp on the calendar and she didn't realize her big day had come and gone. So a few days after returning home we celebrated her birthday at the home of that creepy gray rat.  It is not a place I enjoy, but Grace had a blast.

The big hit of the day was a ride on a virtual roller coaster.  Grace and her besties rode it over and over again.  Notice Haven holding hands with Emily.  He's had a crush on her since he was at least one and a half.  He is such a lady killer.  He is also quite irrationally afraid of the big gray rat.  It made for a very long party.

Maybe a future boyfriend for Grace?

Now that Grace is four we are seeing a very strong personality emerge.  She is starting to really express her feelings and show her own style.  She is all princess, all the time!

Which made this gift the hit of the day!

As much as I would like for Grace's hero to be Mulan or Lisa Ling, she is all about Cinderella and Rapunzel.  She even has the hair for it.  And poor Haven always has to be the stepmother.

Our little girl is growing up.  It is scary, and funny, and scary some more.  I want to stop time.  I want to freeze her at four.  I don't want her to go to school and find out that boys are icky and girls are mean and the world does not love her as much as I do.  But time will pass no matter how hard I wish to stop it.  I hope that her magic wand can protect her and let me hold on to my little girl for a little bit longer.
